L'inattendu

A busy day off on the terrace with a beautiful environment. the service was not easy to relax. the menu was somewhat limited, but obviously prepared and cooked with care. a beautiful place to spend a glistening evening.

Eating was excellent and very good value for money. the personal was really friendly and professional. highly recommended!

We have several times during a week stay in the village, both for lunch and dinner. the daily menu, which changed daily, proved to be good eating to a great value for 5 courses.

We had the most wonderful evening at L'inattendu on New Years Eve. We had never been there before and felt a bit nervous about trying to eat a 5 course dinner especially not knowing what the food would be like. We were greeted by the...lovely waitress in charge of the restaurant who was charming and friendly and explained the menu in great detail. In fact there were 3 Amuse bouche before we embarked on the actual dinner which were so delicious I cannot wait to go back there. What really stood out for me most of all were two of the Amuse bouches one being a veloute of jerusamlem artichoke with truffles and a touch of foe gras and prawns with a lime fish mousse both of which were so tasty and so delicious I can't stop thinking about them. This meal was far superior to anything else we have experienced in the Perigord Noir including Michelin star restaurant. Everything was so delicious, so tasty and unusual but not in a weird way as sometimes is the case in the more expensive flashy restuarants. Nothing flashy about L[inattendu warm, friendly, panelled restaurant in traditional French style with excellent service and so was the bottle of Haute Cotes de Nuit which I am also still dreaming of! Its close until 14th February but we have already booked our table. Can't wait to go back!

We took a group of 14 to l'inattendu on our recommendation. We seated in a private room around a very large table. As we have experienced before in the this restaurant, the extremely attentive service was superb. All meals were delivered in a timely and...efficient manner. Normally, the menu du jour offers no choice of main dish, which could have proved very difficult for a large group. However, we were given a choice of three, guinea fowl, fish duck. Hats off to forward thinking! Everybody was bowled over by the quality and presentation of their food. Towards the end of the meal the two chefs were presented to our party and were greeted with a thoroughly deserved round of applause. We cannot thank the staff of l'inattendu enough for turning our evening into such a joyful success. WE WILL RETURN!!!!
