Caffe Cristinacce - Rotherham

A group of 12 military veterans enjoyed a canal boat trip with afternoon tea. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and accommodating. The afternoon tea was delicious and offered great value for money, with a variety of sandwiches and cakes to choose from.

We hadn't been to this cafe since before the Covid lockdown, but we remembered how much we used to enjoy the coffee there. Positive aspects: The food was served very hot and the portion sizes were generous, especially the large slices of fresh bread. The staff, though busy, were friendly. Negatives: Despite visiting two hours before closing time, we were informed that they had run out of several basic items. The prices of the menu items and drinks seemed high. The waitress's cleaning cloth looked dirty and in need of a wash. Overall, the food was tasty, but I found it to be overpriced.

This restaurant is perfect for a get-together with friends. The staff is friendly, and if the weather is nice, there is a charming outdoor seating area where you can enjoy watching the ducks and swans on the water. If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of barges passing by. The food is delicious and always made fresh to order. They also offer afternoon teas. I highly recommend this spot to everyone.

We have visited today , and the food and service were excellent. Excellent customer service. We visited after being let down by another cafe in Rotherham. so glad we did as this was a much better option. Will definitely be visiting again

Sadly, I have to post this about a small cafe that we have often visited in the past. Today, our visit was a disaster. Despite being short staffed on probably their busiest day of the week, this was no excuse for the poor service( or lack of service really that we have experienced at this, or any other cafe we have visited. We waited 15 minutes before we were asked for our order. From then it took 30 minutes to bring the hot drinks. In the meantime several tables that were empty when we arrived were served very quickly with both their drinks and meals. I asked the waitress where is our meal only to be told we are short staffed today, there are only 3 of us on duty and some customers are so demanding . After another 15 minutes we had finished our drinks and decided enough is enough and went to tell the staff we were leaving without having the meal. Unbelievably we were told that was no problem because we haven 't started to prepare your food yet . After having to phone someone to find out how to refund us for the phantom food (this taking several more minutes we finally left. Total time on site was circa 75 minutes. Will we be returning? No!
