Rock Cafe Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber

The name drew us in and the environment kept us there they are going for a Hard Rock Cafe sort of idea but the people’s enthusiasm makes up for any shortfall in decoration.

This place is more a german bar feel with just **** attempt at decorating with rock memorabilia.2 slot machines right opposite the bar which are all u see while sitting there and its a small place.Alot of crazy regulars but are very friendly.Looks like a...mother and son run operation but the son is very standoffish and doesn't look like he likes his job very much.Except for the regulars entertainment I'd go elsewhere.Its a pub for staff of other restaurants who go in after finishing work.

As always, Hard Rock Cafe is always good no matter where they are located and the people are very nice.

We stopped in at Rock Cafe on our first evening in Rothenburg. Its within the town walls on a quiet backstreet not too far from the centre. The decor is really quirky with mirror ceilings and guitars and records everywhere. The lady at the bar...was really friendly (as were the other customers) and had no problem speaking to us in English. We ordered a currywurst and chips and she informed us that for the World Cup, they were doing sauce in the colours of the German flag! Yellow (curry) Red (chilli curry) and Black (barbeque). It tasted amazing and we also had a few drinks while we watched a football game on the TV. We would 100% recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere affordable to eat and drink in Rothenburg!

In Rothenburg, there are very limited options for a late night party and this place is likely catching visitors attention for that specific reason. After downing a few beers on a nearby patio, came here to put an end to the night and partially, to tell myself that I've exhausted every late night option in town. It was a tribute to going home not because I was too lazy to party, but rather than all entertainment options have been exhausted. It's a small establishment, with a bit of an odd decor. Contemporary furniture (think Rooms to go), combined with some guitars on the wall and the flooring of a corporate elevator lobby. The design was very strange. It does feel very out of place in Rothenburg and is generally, just an average bar. They even have a couple food options running late. If looking for a nightcap, this is a decent spot, but I would not go out of my way to come here. It's a place you come to when other options have been exhausted.
