The White Lion - Ross-on-Wye

Popped in for lunch, whilst driving through the area.the White Lion was recommended by a colleague and it didn't disappoint. Friendly welcome when we arrived, matched by great service, really good quality food at very reasonable prices. A good choice of Gluten free options which pleased my wife too! Very pleasant lunchtime spent here. Beautiful location on the banks of the Wye. Food was simple pub fare, but was very tasty and delivered by friendly and pleasant staff. Would definitely return. Had a evening meal hot day so had seat outside, the gammon was lovely, went back for a Sunday lunch, not so good, I had lamb which was bits not slices my husband beef which was tough roast potatoes were over done and hard. Took a hour to get our meal, decided it to have a desert. Service: 4 Location: 5

A friendly welcoming pub with great service and good pub food. We visited on a Tuesday early evening and it was very quiet but the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was good (curry of the day was ace) and the service was quick and friendly.
