Bidrage med feedbackThe lovely staff at Elmsile put on a delightful high tea for a large number of ladies and their beautiful mini ladies! They went above and beyond to cater for every dietary need and could not have been more helpful! Highly recommend a visit to the estate, enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea and a wander through their gardens.
Lunch for six retirees on Saturday. Ambient setting with sun streaming in the window. Expecting the usual restaurant fare and were pleasantly surprised. The menu was excellent. Variety of dishes which were promptly served and beautifully presented. Each of us exclaimed how good the food was and how very good the service. Thank you very much we will be back.
Beautiful wines, food was pretty good but a but off the mark for the price, service was awful!! Shame we didn't get the obviously more experienced girl, the 2 girls we had obviously didn't know the menu, we waited about 20min to get our played cleared by a girl in an extremely short skirt and tight top, (with added muffin top) pretty inappropriate for where we were, would decadently go back for the wine, but sadly its the Tasmanian service which let the place down, too much inexperience
Do yourself a favour visit this wonderful hidden gem. We took the kids here for a long lunch at the end of the school holidays. The contemporary setting is very pleasant. Staff greet you at the entrance. The large windows frame the spectacular sweeping views across the Tamar River still stunning on the rainy winter day that we visited. Seating is very comfortable to allow you to stay a while. Wall art surrounds you is available to purchase plus you can view more in the attached Lithgow Gallery contained in the original homestead. The Elmslie Pinot Noir is superb. The kids were very happy with their $12.50 meal which included individual pizza, seasoned chips salad with a spider drink followed by an ice cream cone. Even the teenagers were happy with the quality quantity of their meals. The salmon main was very nice although possibly slightly over taken by the aroma of the honey glaze. My duck main was wonderful with cous cous broccolini. We chose one of each of the four desserts which were all very well received. Rounded off by very nice liqueur coffees it was a great end to a lovely meal. It was difficult for me to decide whether to list pricing as moderate or expensive but I am a firm believer in that you get what you pay for and The House at Elmslie is well worth it.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Wonderful views. Very efficient and friendly service from Mel and Emily. Can’t wait to go back.
