Bidrage med feedbackI would leave negative stars if I can because I haven 't been this disappointed in a restaurant in a long time. I ordered the rabbit in wine and I didn 't taste any wine at all; the sauce that covered it was extremely salty and briny and reminded me of that gravy sauce I used to have for school lunch that no one ever finished and no amount of water could quench my thirst. The escargot was also very salty and it tasted like briny clams. Overall, just SALT SALT SALT. The chilean sea bass was way too small for the price (36.99); if I had known about the price, I would not have ordered it. I also don 't understand what they were going for with the salad; it was 3 huge pieces of lettuce leaves smothered in sauce and a random tomato. It gave insult to hospital food and that chunk of bread became as hard as a rock and dry as sand after like 30 minutes. And the restaurant is about as lively as a corpse. The lights were off the whole time and I thought the place was closed at first and after eating here, I wish they had been. Judging by the clientele, I think this place is best suited for retired folks. The ceiling also has pretty bad water stains and the ceiling tiles were very old and worn and need to be replaced. I nearly got a heart attack seeing the bill and I gave a tip because the staff are not at fault for the poor food and dingy settings but this is a place I would rather forget that I ever went to. I came here to celebrate my mother 's birthday and even she was speechless afterwards and not in a good way.
This spot is by far the one of the best French restaurants I've tasted! Y'all definitely need to check this mom and pop shop out! Food: amazing! All of their food is fresh and cooked excellently! They serve fresh baked bread and butter, then a salad and soup, and your entree shortly after. The steak was a special that night and was SO good. The flavors were well seasoned. Service: good! They are a mom and pop shop so they have a good relationship with the customers. They check in frequently and run the front of house pretty well!
La Vie Restaurant offers a hidden gem in a small plaza. With around 12 tables, this quaint spot specializes in classic French cuisine prepared by skilled chefs. The service is friendly and attentive, making the experience even more delightful. The journey began with escargot in butter and garlic, a perfect match for the complimentary bread. A simple yet delicious salad followed, showcasing the power of minimalism. The filet mignon stole the spotlight with its tenderness, covered in mushroom and Demi glacé sauce. At first taste, the sauce's slight saltiness harmonized wonderfully with the carrot purée. The inclusion of the soup and salad with the entree made it an excellent value, essentially a 3 course meal. While coffee would have been a perfect addition to complement the meal's richness, the late hour and sleep considerations led to a wise decision to skip it. Notably, I had the pleasure of indulging in a soufflé a treat that requires early ordering due to its longer preparation time. The fluffy and decadent creation was the perfect ending to the dinner, not overly sweet. The thought of pairing it with coffee left me imagining a delightful combination. La Vie Restaurant took me back to my culinary school days when we cook similar dishes. Of course their cooking level is surpassed that of a student level. A place truly deserving of appreciation, both for the dishes served and the overall experience.
They turned us away. The restaurant closes at 9:00pm; my son and I arrived at 8:17pm and they turned us away. They said their kitchen closed at 8:15pm. I informed the gentleman that my 7 year old just wanted to try their escargot and he basically said too bad. They closed their kitchen at 8:15 pm so they couldn't serve us. I still can't believe it. We drove from 30 min away so my son could try escargot. It was on his bucket list for his last week of summer vacation. I'm sure their food is delicious, we will never know. Unbelievably rude.
La Vie has been one of our restaurants for over 20 years. You can have an excellent French/Vietnamese meal at a very legible price. Meals include fresh bread and butter, soup, salad and duck in the middle 20-dollar range. Corkage is very reasonable. Excellent service. Not unusual, but food is very good and worth a visit. They won't be disappointed. Reservations recommended. Both interior and exterior seats. We always enjoy our visits to La Vie.
