Bidrage med feedbackMy family really enjoyed our recent meal here. Probably the best restaurant we visited on our 2 week vacation. They gave us so much food, and it was all delicious. A relative had recommended Ristorante Miramonti as one of the top restaurants in this area. After stuffing myself with salami, cheese, venison and polenta carbonera, I have to agree. My sons also ate heartily, while my wife was able to enjoy the meal while still controlling herself. It was also reasonably priced and a great value for all the food offered. The restaurant has nice location above the town of Roncone with a pretty meadow nearby. I was ready to roll back down the hill after my sumptuous meal. This place is a bit off the beaten track, but it is worth finding.
With an Italian mother, I've been visiting Tione di Trento all my life. During these years, as incomes have increased and people have started counting calories, the earthy and simple food I remember from my childhood has almost disappeared from the family table. This restaurant is about 20 minutes drive from Tione. I was taken to this restaurant by Italian friends, so can't advise on prices but I'm sure that, compared to a chain Italian in London, it is cheaper and, of course, the quality of the food incomparable. The quantities, even for four people were huge. My friends knowing this, we didn't have antipasti. After a starter of cooked mortadella, we had a risotto, pasta, and three meat dishes. At that point, we all said stop! There was so much left over in the very large serving dishes that we asked to take the food home, which was no problem, and so left with three large foil containers that kept me and my sister going for the next two days. We skipped dessert. The nicest touch was at the end of our meal. The owner's wife brought a trolley with large glass flagons of differently flavoured grappa. There was no meaness here: we were left with them and could drink as much or as little as we liked. You can also stay here in the rooms above the restaurant. It is in a beautiful part of northern Italy, half way up a mountain so that once you reach it, you are surrounded by nature.
Locale tipico, cucina tradizionale e porzioni apocalittiche. What else? Materia prima di qualità, mano salda in cucina e servizio allegro con brio. Unica pecca, il rosso della casa, che ci è sembrato un filo annacquato. Per il resto bravi, torneremo.
What a surprising restaurant! We landed there guided by some local friends for lunch. I think I have a pretty good experience of Italian restaurants of all sorts and all budgets. But this one stands out for its generosity and its extravaganza! Do you know what antipasto is? Did you order some before? Did you measure the size of antipasto? They look like a nibble, don’t they? Little “amuse bouche” aren’t they? Here an anti pasto is purely pantagruelism … I thought that the fist dish of sliced copa and speck was going to be it… WRONG! I lost the count in the amount of “tagliere” (a sort of decorative chopping board) they serve the food on. We were 4 around the table but the amount of stuff to eat was for a regiment of alpine guards. Pickles veg, cheese, ham, sausage…I lost the count that was way too much! If you are an OGRE this is a place for you… if you are on a diet, please carry on driving this is too much for you! And at the end of the lunch some local grappas are on a “help yourself” mode. Heaven on Earth!
