Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant opened a few months ago and I am already a regular. It offers the best selection of organic and natural wines in the area, as well as high quality street and non street food, in an area where cheap and low quality food has become unfortunately very common. A place like Pastella was very much needed! The restaurant is small and cozy, with open view kitchen and wine shelves where to pick your favourite or be wisely advised by Martino or the other managers, to drink there or take away. Every detail is well taken care of, from the colors of the room, to the architecture, to the music, above all the quality of food and ingredients, which is outstanding. For Romans, the suppli (deep fried rice ball with mozzarella is a must and finding a very good one, in so many varieties like Pastella does, is not so common. Differently from the other Pastella shops in Rome, this one in Pigneto is a restaurant and a wine shop, with a menu of great, simple but exceptionally tasty, food options available, either modern re visitations of traditional Roman food, or great classics (like the polpette di bollito , original meatballs made with stewed beef . We had the deep fried seafood mix, the octopus with chicory and the falafel sandwich, as well as countless bottles of organic prosecco and other wines. The fried food, their specialty (Pastella means batter in Italian , is light and not oily or greasy at all. Very digestible, and not heavy (or, worst, stinky on your dress or hair! . The taste was simply exceptional, fresh and armonic. The kitchen is extremely fast and efficient and the staff is very welcoming, smiling and happy to advise on wines and food. Veggie options available, including suppli. Really really recommended, for Pigneto lovers and not only.
We came here after seeing google reviews as well and they literally have only 1 vegeterian burger. Menu is only in italian ans wasnt even the same like the one on google, service sucks, and the wine is not even that great. Our waitress (and the only employee that day) had no eye for us and even sat with her friends table next to us having a drink/smoking/eating
Really fine quality in organic wine from Italy and France and in organic food. A lot of small and raw producers for the ingredients, traditional recipes, really easy to eat and to digest.
Consiglio vivamente.
