This was my Father and I second visit to this restaurant. We were there last year and enjoyed a fabulous meal with excellent service. This time, not so good. Starting from the number of messages to confirm our reservation, either by WhatsApp or email, which I find excessive. However, that is a minor point. When we reserved the table, for 7.45, during the process, it was clear we needed to return the table by 9.15. A strange request, I thought, but it's a busy restaurant and they have a lot of customers. So whilst I found it strange, it didn't put me off. Because of the stern nature of the communication and our desire to enjoy our evening at this restaurant, we arrived at around 7.35. We were seated immediately, and the waiting staff were very quick and efficient to take our order. We didn't take any starters. A very simple, if expensive order of steak and fries, with some salad plus a bottle of wine. As with a lot of diners, my father and I were not in a rush. We wanted to enjoy the experience, so when the meal didn't arrive till around 8.25, it didn't upset us. As is customary, the wine arrived a few minutes before. My father really enjoyed his rib-eye steak. However, I took the wagyu, which, if I'm honest, was underwhelming. There is nothing wrong, but not the spectacular meat experience of the previous visit. Up until this point, all good. When we had finished our meal, the plates were removed almost immediately. We were asked if we wanted desert, we replied just a coffee. We were then asked if we could settle the bill as they needed the table. We still had wine left. We then realised that it was 9.18. The staff wanted the table back. We looked around and there were other empty tables which made us feel very unwelcome. We finished our coffee and our wine, then we paid and left. I don't usually leave negative reviews, I hesitated to leave this, but we were so disappointed that what should have been a lovely evening was spoiled. The starter didn't quite live up to expectations, but the main course and dessert: top notch! Special thanks to the waiter Carmine! Although the restaurant was full, we were constantly attended to.
