10Th Hole Bistro - Rocky Cape

When we arrived in Weipa on a public holiday, our options for feeding our family of six were limited. The bistro was open and offering takeout pizza. We ended up getting two pizzas, a soft drink, and a garlic bread, which ended up costing us $57. While the pizzas were tasty, it was quite expensive for a family meal.

The food was great, we ate here a couple of times. I had the steak and I'd definitely go back again . Staff are friendly and has a relaxing feeling to the place. Great way to end a day.

Food here is good, sometimes not much variety on the menu, and bit disappointed that the pastas are all mostly a white cream sauce, I prefer my marinara to be a tomato based sauce. The coconut prawns I found to be in a very garlic based cream sauce (not very nice). The salt & pepper squid is usually the best choice.

They call themselves a bistro, not a restaurant, unlike the slightly pretentious Bowls Club nearby. If someone opened a decent dining spot in Weipa, they'd be raking in the cash! I decided to try the special - a medium-rare steak with Mushroom sauce, chips, and salad. Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked, with bits medium and most of it closer to well done. The Mushroom sauce was more like rubbery reconstituted mushrooms in their rehydrating water. The steak and salad were swimming in this lackluster sauce, slowly cooking. Although I've had worse steak dinners, there haven't been many. On the plus side, the staff were friendly, though they wisely didn't ask about the meal's quality, and the food arrived fairly quickly.

My group of four dined at this restaurant during our time in Weipa. The bistro offers delicious and satisfying meals with ample portions. The restaurant has a bistro style ambiance with fast and efficient service, and the outdoor dining area provides lovely views of the golf course. It is a family-friendly spot with a pleasant atmosphere. The wine selection is limited but reasonably priced, and they offer a good selection of cold beers on tap. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you are in Weipa and provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a meal with the locals in a welcoming environment.
