Bidrage med feedbackWe decided to try Trevino's again after the change of ownership. The service was good but it took a minute for someone to greet us or to be seated. It was just me and my husband. It was a bit after lunch and was not busy. My husband loved the chips. The salsa was medium spicy. The sweet tea was perfect. The food came out quickly. My husband ordered the burritos and I ordered the chicken fajita tacos. His burritos were just ground taco meat rolled in a flour tortilla served with beans and rice. No cheese or toppings. It was like a large kids meal. He said that the meat was very salty. My fajita tacos consisted of grilled chicken in a flour tortilla served with beans, a dollop of sour cream, dollop of guacamole, some pico on a bed of lettuce. Both dishes were very basic and not worth the price. The building is historic and on a cool side note, there is an urn under the awning on the main street. We were told that this building used to sell dry goods and urns/caskets.
Disappointing experience today. Our order wasn 't processed so we had about 40 minutes of munching on chips and salsa- the queso and guacamole we ordered came out after 20 minutes, 2 baskets of chips later. Food was expedited by the waitress after she stated the kitchen never got the order she put in. Came out 9 minutes later. Chicken taco salad- literally 80% beans, very little of the actual lettuce to make it a salad. Pic attached. Dallas plate- tamales lacked flavor, taco beef lacked flavor, the half tosrada is literally a broken taco shell with melted slices of American cheese. Acapulco Plate- I counted 6 pieces of seed beef in my stew rice was good, that 's about the best part of it all, and some decent sweet tea. Asked for a cheese enchilada kids plate, with an extra enchilada. Extra enchilada never came out of the kitchen so I had the waitress take it off the receipt. Waitress seemed flustered and really wasn 't that attentive, but I can say it looked like she was waiting the entire restaurant, can 't blame her. I dont think we will be back- just really disappointing food. Oh, and I don 't think the HVAC was working either, pretty warm inside.
Who knew that a Texas Restaurant serves nachos without peppers. They do have some nice big chunks of raw onions. Weird. Their chips are very thick and tough and have a hint of something I I believe to be old grease and not any kind of seasoning. The are mostly hard clumps not suited for dipping. The place is cute. I was seated quickly and my nachos, which were my meal, came in under half an hour.
Love our meals very delicious hot. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you
Stopped by for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised with the food and service. They have a great selection of lunch specials in the $8 to $12 range. The Tuesday special was beef or chicken fajitas for only $11.95. Next time I will have to stop in for dinner so I can try the margaritas!
