We sat at the counter and we had super friendly and fast service from Mary J. Hot fresh food. Classic small town diner. Only six minutes from Mayo, so it was the perfect breakfast place before heading to Mayo. One unexpected perk: you can pay the bill with QR code and your phone.
We really enjoyed our visit here. It felt like stepping back in time with the diner atmosphere from years past. The food was top notch and delicious and the service was outstanding. And by all means, do not skip the pie. If you enjoy your cherry pie perfectly tart and not too sweet like I do, you will not be disappointed. Best pie I've had in a long, long time.
Local diner with a small town feel since 1977. No frills, dated interior offers a lunch counter, tables on one side and a narrow run of booths on the other. One wall commemorates the lives of Korean War veterans and other such memorabilia. Susan, waitress of 41 years, made our dining out an even more enjoyable experience. My Grandma's Club Sandwich came with crisp bacon, thick ham, chunky, sliced turkey, fresh lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise served on toasted whole wheat. My wife’s chicken melt came with a grilled chicken breast with melted cheddar, tomato, lettuce on a toasted bun. Pickles, mayo/ranch and thin French fries on the side. A large menu offers made from scratch, home cooking for breakfast, lunch and supper. Plenty of pie options, sweets and ice cream treats.
Food was absolutely great, the best it has been in a while. The waitress was the greatest, very attentive and friendly. I wish had asked her name and I didn't hear it when she said it, she was the youngest and newest one there. The only reason I didn't give it a five is because of the attitude and the lack of respect for her coworkers. I guess she has her regulars and the heck with others.
