Bidrage med feedbackA beautiful selection of food in their health food sections, but also health food throughout the business. I could find objects that I usually can't find at home. stopped here to get some cocosnus yogurt and mandelmilch on the road. I was able to find vegan options in their prepared food, vegan poke dishes and sushi! updated by the previous review on 2021-09-05
They will buy them packages of vegan cheese from the health food section of the load and make them a pizza with vegetable toppings. at the weekend there are many prepared vegan options with ingredients listed in the descriptions on the cooked food bar area. updated from previous review to 2017-07-23
Update for the Ridgemont Store: This location has seriously expanded their vegan selections in both the take out food section and the refrigerated/frozen section. It's definitely worth a trip to check it out. There's no question that Wegmans is a good grocery store. If you're looking for produce or vegan staples you'll probably be able to find them here. With Wegmans a lot depends on which store you're visiting. I spend a lot of time driving from store to store to find what I'm looking for. For example I drive to Pittsford for Myokos and Kite Hill cheeses, though I can find Kite Hill yogurt in my local store. I have much worse luck in prepared foods. The Wegmans near where I work (so typically where I go to get a quick lunch) has nothing I can eat aside from veg sushi and salad (as is the case with many local Wegmans). I can almost never find vegan soup on any of the soup bars and unless I'm at Pittsford the food bars are sparse, at best, with vegan food. Baked goods are another problem. Some stores have store baked vegan cookies, mine does not. When I asked I was told they won't carry them. For day to day staples I'm fine with Wegmans but for more specialized and up to date vegan choices I go elsewhere or order on line.
Wegmans is my favorite grocery store. Consumer reports agrees with me and voted it the best grocery store in the United States. This location is one of their biggest. It has a huge Health food section and a huge gluten-free section. They also have a hot food buffet which includes a vegetarian section, an Asian section a salad bar, and a hot veggie section. The ingredients are clearly shown and items are marked when they are vegan or vegetarian. I had a four grain dish with exotic mushrooms and truffle oil which was outstanding. I also had a kale salad, shredded brussels sprouts, grilled veggies, and a few tofu dishes. The buffet includes many gardein products. They charge by weight and our family of 4 ate for $32. I like that the vegetarian items are not right beside the meat items. The groceries are less expensive than whole foods and health food stores. I also love their app. The app tells me what aisle items are located in and the price. When I need items not available near my home like xanthan gum or potato starch or arrowroot flour, I enter it in the app and wait until I am next at Wegmans to pick them up. I can stock up on all my ingredients for a good price at one place. I wish they had more locations and one closer to my home.
