Jo Dearing's Southern Smoke BBQ & Grill

Had dinner was very good. Could have had more smoke flavor but all in all very tasty. Tried the pulled pork, ribs and chicken.

We were out for a Sunday drive and happened to come upon this little restaurant . When we went into the restaurant we were quickly acknowledged with a cheerful Hi . We placed an order for ribs and chicken that came with potato salad , roll and homemade baked beans. Wow it was fantastic , the ribs were awesome they basically fell of the bones and didn't disappoint. Everything is made from scratch and smoked right there on site . I will definitely go back for more

River John is a small town on the coast in Nova Scotia, but this BBQ is old school, southern delicious. Authentic, and greet food. But check there web site, they are not open often, mostly weekends, and get there early, e food us fresh, but earn they sell out they close. And the food is do good, they do sell out. Worth a trip.

The meal was great and I would recommend if you are in River John make a point of visiting and a meal. Friendly staff and the meal fed us twice.

It was fantastic. Who would think a little road side joint would serve up such high quality food. Was there with a dozen friends, most had fall of the bone ribs, I had a spicy burrito...and tried the ribs. Service was fast. You go up to the cash, pay and order. the food comes in a reasonable time. Portions were very generous. Everyone loved their food! Just the right amount of spice and smoke. I'll be back...so worth the trip along the picturesque Sunrise Trail...right in the heart of River John...will be back when I am there on holidays next year!
