Bidrage med feedbackMy wife and I spent two consecutive evenings at Wal and we had great food and drink on both evenings. We had two of the salads offered on the menu with two quality hams added one evening and fresh salmon added to our salads the following evening. Everything we ordered was of a high quality and this included the extra vergine olive oil. The Wal has a limited number of tables of which all are placed outside in a quaint small square so it may be advisable to reserve a table. The maitre (he can’t be called a waiter) is very friendly and always gave us great advice. The Aperol spritz was excellent! A must if you are in this area.
Minimal structure with wide open safe space , hi-tech and sophisticate appetizers and I didn 't tell of the excellent quality of the wines and wines reserve that I found in this place and that 's able to offer you for a long range of tastings. Its personnel is very careful and got an eye over everything that 's going on face of customers, avoiding long waiting and ready to be at maximum disposal for any request. if you get a sit over its small plaza in front of its entrance in this time of the year you will have nothing to envy when watching n reading those obsolete reviews about the same dying names: Portofino, Capri, Costa Azzurra, bleah... they died all like Ibiza.. Sicily is still a Confederate Stronghold and landing point for high oligarchies of any sector: cinema, finance, show business, etc. Hence this is a neat place and a first Sicilian handshaking point of these.
We went to Wal for an apertivo prior to going to dinner at Vico Astemio. The staff was great and very welcoming. The location is perfect: outside next to the Port of Riposto. There was a mix of tourists from the chartered boats and local Italians good sign if locals are at a place. Had two Aperol Spritz and they brought out four free appetizers including cheese and honey and salumi. Will definitely go back. Great atmosphere, drinks, and service.
We found this place after a long journey from Palermo. We hadn't eaten and were pleasantly surprised when we received cicchetti with each drink.... I tried the local Sicilian wine which was excellent. The owner was very attentive and welcoming. Highly recommend a stop at this harbour bar.
I wouldn't call this a restaurant, more a bar, although they do local cheeses and meats. The food was lovely and the service friendly.
