Oro - Rio de Janeiro

Solid cooking, clear, in this 2 Michelin star restaurant. We had the big tasting menu and asked for a pescatar version and had no problems at all. If you do not speak Portuguese, they will also provide you with information in English, but if you speak Portuguese, it is a better experience obvious. The tasting menu comes in the form of some smaller dishes (for your hands), which are delicious and tiny. Then comes your three “main” dishes that you choose from a smaller section of the menu, and finally a dessert everyone. It was a little disappointing not to taste all the different desserts, but I guess that's the way they set up the menu. We had not the wine pairing but decided to go with cocktails for the whole dinner. Bartender was great to take our order – based on the flavors and types of alcohol we liked, and then he made drinks. The only problem was that the beverage service was something inconspicuous. My glass was empty a few times and time intervals... and that's just not with some of the other 2-star Michelin experiences I had.

We went to a lot of great restaurants in Rio and this was by far the best!! Delicious bites of dishes of various origins, and the wine pairings were also fantastic. It was one of the best meals we’ve had in our lives, and definitely deserving of the two Michelin stars.

Amazing food, service, and overall experience (highly recommend sitting at the counter to watch the chefs in action). I’ve had several tasting menu experiences, mostly in New York, and this may have been the best I’ve ever had!

I was very pleasantly surprised; Oro really exceeded my expectations. Elevated Brazilian street food with incredibly friendly service, what a great Rio dining experience!

If Google allowed me to give them 10 stars, I would. During our visit to Rio we sung in several Michelin restaurants. Oro was by far the best meal, service and experience without doubt. We were lucky to have been sitting in front of the kitchen. We need to see them in action that was really cool (highly recommend if possible to ask). The service was attentive and they always checked for us. The food was amazing! I loved how they inspired several dishes from different origins such as Brazil, asian inspired, etc. We were really so happy with the experience and would recommend everyone to visit Rio to dine in Oro.
