The Esquilin Hill nowadays is full of nice surprises. Last month we bumped into this newly opened bar bistro. It's located right off Via Merulana, halfway between St. John Lateran and the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Great for a quick bite, the staff are young and efficient, always ready to satisfy customers with good products and a smile that always helps. We recommend it even just for a moment of relax with a good tea, a coffee, breakfast, a cappuccino, a sandwich, a hot chocolate or a cutting board with cold cuts and a happy hour aperitif. Great place for a quick bite just steps from the Trevi panini about 6 euro, insalata around 8 euro, and a number of different sides (e.g., fried potatoes, suppli) Our lunch of a porchetta panino, fried potatoes, two suppli and a water was about 20 euro all together. Food was delicious, staff was friendly, and was a great spot to sit and watch the throngs of people heading to and from the Trevi. As an extra bonus, clean western style bathrooms.
