Bidrage med feedbackThis pub is beautiful! I was really looking forward to eating here. I thought the roast dinner was very pricey at £19.95, so I hoped it would be delicious. The lamb was very fatty and chewy, the roast potatoes tasted frozen and some of the veg was still hard. The gravy and Yorkshire pudding were both very nice. Hubby and son had burgers, which we had to pay £1.50 for a slice of rubber burger cheese!! The chicken burger was dry. After a disappointing main meal, I was looking forward to dessert. I ordered the sticky toffee pudding and I asked for custard. The lovely waitress told me they don't do custard!??!?!?!? So I had nothing. All in all, a very beautiful pub to have a drink by the open fire, but I won't be returning for food anytime soon . Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
We visited last night for a firework display, 6 paying adults 1x6 year old and 1x 4 year old. We all purchased food and drinks, including chips for the children, however we were later approached by the owner who told us we were not allowed to bring our own food, when we explained we had small snacks for the kids (a pasta pot, a yogurt and a couple of biscuits) he told me 'ill turn a blind eye on this occassion but i have a business to run and we do not allow people to just come in buy half a pint and eat their own food ' we were not pleased with this response and made it clear we were paying customers who had purchased food and drinks for all, spending easily in excess of £100 in the short space of time we were there. The owner completely disregarded this and asked us to leave, i asked for my ticket to be refunded, which wad denied. Both children were made to feel unwelcome and asked to leave after this incident. A family member then went and spoke to the owner again, expressing how his actions were unacceptable and was told 'we will agree to disagree, i have a business to run '.tables next to us had tupplewares with hot food for adults and were not approached like we were. Its a shame the owner felt the need to treat his customers this way Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
