Touhenboku Ramen - Richmond Hill

This establishment has declined in quality, or perhaps it's just this specific branch. I visited a few weeks ago for a business lunch and was disappointed to receive ramen in bland, warm water with no seasoning. I initially thought I had lost my sense of taste due to covid, but my companion agreed that the dish had no flavor. The broth tasted like plain lukewarm water from a dispenser. When I inquired about the lack of taste, the server brought us two dishes of salt without offering an apology. The location appeared run down, dirty, and the staff seemed to lack pride in their work. It seems like the owner may be waiting for their lease to end and close the restaurant, which might be for the best. I should have opted for the less appealing KFC instead. Disappointing experience all around.

Chef and servant have been changed, so the food has cut corners. Taste is still the same with the same recipe, but the quality is disappointing.It used to have soft boiled egg and corns in most of the noodles. Now you will have tons of green onions.Meat is either missing or in a very small portion. Chicken Cha shu comes with the shio, not pork.Karaage and deep fried shrimps are over cooked. Also, lower your expectations for the karaage portion.

Their food is good (based on visits in May 2023) however in the last 4 attempts to dine in they walked us away from the door. They are always out of food, this is generally 1-2 hours prior to their closing time.

Ive been here a few times before and the ramen was always pretty good. But today the restaurant was just off. It was open for a few hours and I ordered my food. I never really looked at the menu that close before but TWO DOLLARS FOR 2 EGGS. Jesus. Not only that but right now at 10:40 pm i am sitting on my toilet suffering from diarrhea. :

Update: The quality has slightly declined since my last visit, in both the food and service departments. However, it is still a good option for a quick bite.
