Bidrage med feedbackI have visited this restaurant for ten years and never get disappointed. As an Indian restaurant, their service and food quality is excellent and remains consistent. This time, we ordered Chaa ki tokri and puchka for appetizers, chaa ki tokri is a must-ordering dish. And then we ordered tandoori chicken, lamb rojanjosh and Malai Kofta with nans and Bindaas Biryani. Tandoori chicken and the lamb dish were amazing as usual. We also had chai tea and mango kulfi for dessert. The servers were very friendly and helpful.
Love this place so much I hosted a birthday party here. Their naan is outstanding and their dishes aren't too spicy. Most Indian buffets are too spicy for me but this was just right. Liked all their dishes especially the Tandoori chicken is amazing! Too bad the Host downtown doesn't have a daily buffet. Apparently they only do it on Fridays.
I really liked it, but since I'm not Indian, I asked some of my Indian friends their thoughts. They said that this is not 100% authentic, but pretty close. There are elements on the menu that are geared towards "Canadians", but all in all, it has good "authentic" variety, and good quality. On certain days, they have a "fried fish" which is very good. Apparently that is a staple, and they do it quite well as per "authentic standards".I enjoyed it thoroughly, and have been there over the past 5 years at least a dozen times, if not more.
I've had a LOT of Indian all across the GTA and went to The Host on a very high recommendation from a co-worker. I have to say that while it was good, very good actually, it didn't quite meet my expectations. It was really not that far apart from anywhere else I've had and given the modest hype, I kind of expected it would have somehow stood apart.
Reasonably priced buffet lunch, fresh food, naan etc. Made for Canadian's- not spicy, except the curried goat, has a little, pretty good variety. Plenty to choose from.
