Not quite 5/5 as there is another dimsum place I love that has staff who are professional and actually look like they enjoy working there. However, Neptune is still up there in my books if you want good (not necessarily cheap), well-made dimsum and acceptable service level.
So if you want a decent dinner for 2 at a fine dining Chinese restaurant in Richmond, maybe just get a whole Peking Duck, which usually costs $45 – $50 and it comes in 2 courses, which is more enough for 2 people. And this time they prepared the duck very well here at Neptune. This is interesting because they are known as a top seafood restaurant in the neighbourhood. Their seafood dishes are not cheap, I would recommend you to try them if you're with a bigger group of people.
Bad/ slow service <br/ good food depend on day and what you ordered/ set menu is the way to go for big group and maybe add extra items<br/ a tad over priced <br/ family friendly <br/ if I had to choose I dish: Peking duck 1 course <br/ would i go back? Maybe
This has got to one of the oldest late night hangout joints in Richmond besides the infamous No.9 Restaurant at Landsdowne centre. I used to come here for dinner with the family but since so many other restaurants sprouted up across town, finding a nearby place that was affordable and convenient wasn’t hard so we stopped going here. But, after heading out of the movie theatre for a late showing, coming here for late night eats was a good idea.
Was planning to go to a dimsum places in the morning, there were a few options in richmond but my friend decided to go to neptune since he favored this restaurant over the others.<br/ <br/ came at very early in the morning like around 9-10 am i think and it was quite empty, but by the time we left is quite packed, but not to the point that there's a lineup yet. ordered a few reggular items for food, and also tried the desert like durian mochi and interesting pastries...<br/ <br/ the food in general i would say is definitely good, maybe i was hungry and craving for it at the time. not one item that i remember was off in terms of taste, flavour and texture, everything is in the range of what i wanted. <br/ <br/ in terms of the pastry, i think everything is great as well, and the durian mochi is the first time i tried it, durian an exotic fruit either you'll love it or hate it base on the smell, for me i'm okay, like not a big fan of it, but for how they make it, i'll say it's good the durian inside is buttery and the mochi outside is soft chewy and gives a hint of sweetness from the flour.
