I wasn't very impressed by the appearance of the back room in the bar, but I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious and abundant food that was perfectly cooked.

We were staying locally whilst visiting the Royal Mint. We booked a table for 6 people. We arrived half way through an England v Wales Rugby game, the pub had a great atmosphere full of locals and a separate dining area for our booked table. The food is fantastic, plentiful and home cooked and very reasonably priced. We loved the local feel of the place, super friendly staff and we had a great time. Thank you.

We visited this restaurant on Sunday for lunch. My family, who live in Llantrisant, had heard great things about it. I had come down from Guildford to join them. The pub's setting is charming - old and just the way I like it. Although it's 200 years old, it is clean and welcoming. We chose to celebrate my cousin's 40th birthday here. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The pub was not too busy at first, but it got busier as the day went on, which is always a good sign. We ordered drinks at the bar before heading to the carvery. There was a good selection of meats - gammon, pork, turkey, and rare and well-done beef. I opted for the well-done beef, which was absolutely delicious. I also tried some of the pork. The vegetables were served at our table and everything was perfect. If I could have eaten the roast again, I would have. For dessert, I had a difficult time choosing but went with the key lime pie, which is hard to find in the UK. It was just like the ones they make in Florida - absolutely delicious. The flavors were not overpowering and everyone left happy and full. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the fact that the restaurant was full is a good indicator of how good it is. Thank you for having us, I will definitely be back, even if it's just for a slice of pie.

Had a family birthday lunch here on Saturday and it was superb! The staff were friendly and welcoming as soon as we arrived. The food was excellent! Fresh, home-cooked lots of it. Great choice of menu at very reasonable prices. Also spoilt for choice with the desserts menu which were also delicious. We will be back for sure and highly recommend!
