The Pie Place - Reservoir

Been getting pie from here for 25 years. Now i travel from Gippsland to The Pie Place Coburg just for there yummy pies.

We recently tried some pies at this restaurant and were quite impressed. The pastry was light, tasty, and well balanced. The sausage roll had a slightly smaller meat to pastry ratio than we would have preferred, but it was still good. The curry steak had a delicious authentic curry flavor with plenty of saucy mince. The beef pasty was fantastic, with a good balance of meat and veggies - probably the best pasty I've had in Melbourne. The egg and bacon pie was a bit bland and dry compared to the others, but we would have preferred some mince like the Ned Kelly. The vanilla slice had a tasty custard and a good crust. Overall, the pies were excellent and we would definitely be interested in trying more from their menu.

Also, the cheese and cauliflower roll was delicious, with unexpected spiral pasta inside that tasted great. The pastry was once again perfect, the best I've had anywhere. I am upgrading my score for this place because it is truly legit.

I absolutely love the pies at this restaurant. I drive all the way from Melton just to indulge in them.

These are the most beautiful and the most delicious pies I have ever tasted, and they're made by the most lovely pie people! I feel that I am spoiling myself every time I buy anything here. And now they are selling fluffy, yummo, hot cross buns! The Pie Place is Coburg's little secret jewel, and I hope it's there for a long time yet! If you haven't found it in the little arcade at the top end of Sydney Rd you're missing out!
