Bidrage med feedbackFood was fine, not great; prices high, not exorbitant: service was punctual and fast. My chili verde was served in a soup bowl, first for me, and was lacking much spicing. But my wife's portabello fajitis were hit. I'd say c- and she b.
We were welcomed and seated timely. We were brought water and chips. The server didn't engage for more than 10 minutes. We ordered a margarita and a Paloma, the Paloma was missing the promised spicy rim, both drinks were $18 each. The esquites (corn) appetizer came quickly but was much spicier than advertised and had to much liquid to be edible past the top layer. The three street tacos had good flavor but the meat was extremely salty, chicken/carnitas. The Caesar salad had a chipotle dressing and we ordered the steak in the side, the steak was the same asada they would put in a taco, it was okay but very salty. Overall good dinner and atmosphere but $100 for what we had was too expensive.
Not sure why this place only has 3.5 stars. The salsa and chips are good. The cheese enchiladas are straight out of Texas. The beans taste like they were made from scratch and the right way. Not fake Mexican food from California!! lol!!
Grand Sierra you can do so much better. This place has potential but it just can't seem to get the food quality. The birria tacos were soggy, the rice was absolutely tasteless and the chips were greasy. At one time, before they tried to be more upscale it had decent food but now it's pretty hit or miss. The service was ok.
We ate at Uno Mas while staying at the GSR on a staycation. The food is good, guac was tasty, salsas were delicious. Wouldn't be my first choice in Reno, but a good option when you're on the resort property. a little pricey, but probably on par with the rest of the inflation that comes along with eating on a casino property.
