La Brasserie Du Boulingrin - Reims

I just happen to be walking through here when it was just opening so I didn't get to see all the vendors, but this was really cool and why I love Europe.

We arrived in Reims late afternoon and our hotel recommended this brassiere for lunch but it was too late. So we booked for dinner. Now I very rarely write bad reviews but there was nothing positive about our dinner. The service was slow, we had...to repeatedly flag down our waiter for service. We shared the beef tartare as an entree and it was bland. We asked for it spicy but it just fell flat. My husband ordered the andouillette sausage and it was inedible, however the sauce was nice. I ordered the scampi pasta and it came out cold, it was left sitting on the serving tray at another table before our server noticed it and brought it over. It was basically garlic prawns on plain pasta with no sauce. It was just awful. We barely touched either dish, and our server didn’t even notice to ask if there was anything wrong with our meals. Dinner was over euro and we left hungry. Very very disappointed.

We had come across upon entering the town. Hotel recommendation added to that but the event did not live up to the reputation: average salads on the preprepared side. Champagne below par an a faulty corky Jacquart extra brut at first. Waiting on the ready...act side. Nothing memorable including the glee of our neighbors. Overpriced, swift to get over and done with you' attitude lacking finesse, subtlety or culinary history

A typical French Brasserie with great service and delicious food!! A must visit when in Reims. We will definitely come back.

Really nice mix of classic French cuisine and class. All beautifully presented. Also a relaxed atmosphere and a pleasant mix of local business people and families.Delicious especially the guinea fowl and likewise the sea bass on a risotto Really good and will go again when...next in town!
