Bidrage med feedbackWe had been recommended to try thisRestaurant having been frequent users of many Pub/Restaurants in the area. We were made very welcome and were impressed with the range of food available at lunchtime. The food was promptly served and very well presented. Generous portions, a little too much for us but this will be welcomed by most customers! The staff were friendly and efficient. We have since made two further visits with friends and family.
The pub is not longer open at all. It closed down in 2019 and there is no longer anywhere there to eat. You can carry on to the Fox Revived which is about a 5 min drive away and has excellent food
I booked this lovely family run country pub for my mother’s wake following her recent death. We had the most fantastic afternoon, the buffet that was provided was superb, all freshly cooked ,prepared and baked for us. Nothing was too much effort, including finding a dessert for a very hungry 11 year old! As the pub is usually closed on Monday afternoon we were able to make use of the bar and garden areas whilst we were there. Great news for Oscar the dog! The staff were friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate in recommending this country pub for any event. Thank you to everyone for such a lovely afternoon, my Mum would have loved the fact that we were somewhere she had enjoyed going for lunch with her friends.
Several people had recommended the Three Horseshoes and it had good reviews on this web site, so when a friend offered to take us out for Sunday lunch, we thought we would give it a try. We booked on line on Thursday but quite by chance, we were driving past on the Saturday, so thought we would pop in and check it out. We were met by a very pleasant young lady who confirmed that we were NOT booked in but not a problem and she let us choose the table we wanted Table no 8 by the window overlooking the very pleasant garden. All ok so far. So we arrived at the allotted time on the Sunday to find others sitting at our table which was a bit disappointing but we managed tp squeeze into another table. We chose the Sunday lunchtime roast menu. The starters were not that inspiring the prawn cocktail was tasteless, but the cream of corn soup was excellent. The roast was excellent; we had beef and pork. Good roast potatoes and excellent well cooked by which I mean not overcooked but perfect vegetables. A little disappointed in the Yorkshire pudding were not quite cooked and a bit doughy but excellent pork crackling.. Eton mess was exactly what it should be. Service was slow but not really a problem for a Sunday lunch as the last thing you want is to be rushed. It is clearly very popular, because as we left about 4.30 the pub was still full with people enjoying their roast dinners. A good selection of ales and a good atmosphere although ours was a little spoilt by the loud party who were sitting at our ? table. Dont expect a wine list have a look at the bar as you go in but nice wine I would go back again but I would not rush to do so. All in all I thought it was good value for money and the food was good to very good let down by the prawn cocktail. Being as how busy it was I wonder what might have happened if we had just turned up at our allotted time as I did not see any spare tables !
Visited the pub on a hot summers day, there is a good beer garden with some booths set out like beach huts,
