The Sushi train is awesome! When I went it was an hour closer to closing time and very underserved which is understandable but you'd think the price would reflect this in the end, it does not. I also understand the changes in costs but this place is consistently increasing prices by roll or cutting costs in other areas like less wasabi or ginger available to customers. It's best to do take out at this place as of recent. The sushi is still undeniably good, that much I'll give them but the in restaurant experience has gone downhill. I felt like a hassle more than a guest.
Cool experience! I wish the rolls weren’t as big and one roll per plate would have been nice to try. But otherwise the food was good and inexpensive. Service was excellent as well!
Saw this page when looking for sushi options in Regina. The idea of it seemed really neat so we decided to try it.The price you pay for the amount of food you get if you go for a buffet option is actually really good- although their sushi has a lot of rice filler. You can order off the dim sum menu (caution it’s one piece per order not one serving- so many sure you order accordingly). It’s a small dim sum menu but it’s really well done and tasty. The sushi options itself on the belt are your basics and a couple specialty but I found it to be a bit underwhelming. The drink options are cans of pop for soft drinks, no refills. There are desserts on the belt which are your standard Asian fare at westernized restaurants- jello, fruit and cake squares.the restaurant itself is not very modern but it is clean. There is no air conditioning so it was very stuffy inside. It’s small. And the outside is old and not modern- we had to double check it was the right place. Sometimes hole on the wall locations give you a pleasant surprise. This place was mediocre.I would likely not return unless someone really wanted to try it as I like more high quality sushi. Maybe ordering a La carte has better options and quality but the buffet was not for me and it didn’t meet my sushi needs for the day.The service was good though, staff were friendly and welcoming, very attentive.
I gave it all 5 stars because I loved the all you can eat surveyor belt of assorted dishes (everything from just small plates of raw fish like salmon, tuna, etc (no rice) to other sushi dishes such as my favorite…. Eel. It also includes in the buffet price the option to order off the menu as well.I liked the assorted ice creams, fresh fruit, and 1 non alcoholic beverage is included in the buffet price. I think dinner was approximately $30 per person. Will go again soon. It is not a fancy restaurant-pretty casual diner vibe. Wish I had brought my camera to take pictures.Parking: I had no trouble parking although it is limited free parking. I think 2 hour limit. We had plenty of time.
