Bidrage med feedbackThe second dinner in regensburg “Gasthaus “Dicker Mann” sounds strangely promising,” shaneymac wrote in a commentary under the “Krauterer” and so we have. during the editing of the dates of regensburg I had noticed other “seltsame” names, which also sounded quite promising, namely the restaurant “Leerer Bag”, which was already visited by obachts schatzl, and the taverne “Towards patched drum”, which sounded us medieval. also because of the honest recommendation of our hotel receptionist, we decided to reserve a table on the first day of the regenburg in the guest house “Dicker Mann”. which is hidden locally for regensburger newcomer. at the haidplatz, a small inconspicuous gässchen leads to the “thick man” in the hotel “Zum blaue Krebs” in the krebsgasse. in summer is the place for some tables in front of the house. the parking space at the theater is only a few minutes away. the traditional gastronomics, whose building was built in the 14th century, has a long history behind it, which began far before the 30-year-old war. On the photo can be seen Tuscan half-columns from the Renaissance period, on which the pre-construction rests. a historical house, of which there are also other elements that I do not want to go further. a wonderful kitschiger Christmas tree decorates the entrance area behind the large open tor. enter the gas plant, they fall the low ceilings, the small rooms and mostly dark furniture, which are sometimes very narrow. a lot of cuckles on the walls and in the small niches, a collection that certainly does not like everyone. this looks kind of original and is the stark opposite to the ambiente of the “Pietro e Fabio” from the eve! Here is the somewhat larger right dining room to see the other rooms on the left side are even smaller. our reserved two table was in the thek area, a high table with high seat and chair. somewhat narrow and uncomfortable, with fabric table cloth and red paper serviettes and matching two Christmas stars, much space on the table surface did not remain. the serenity and audibility that later contributed to the increase in the loudness of the Thek guests. but what should it be when it comes to eating well, we are quite passionate! the menu is very extensive and diverse, with clear classic bourgeois focus, so really deftige home kitchen. the nässe and owner is Austrian, so there are also Austrian specialties in the offer, also vegetarians can find here. from Monday to Friday there are very cheap lunches until 17.00 a.m., Monday and Tuesday carving for 7.00 €. Our competent service, a young woman, was expressive with her as “rustic” as well as the local, altogether friendly, flott and attentive, she had everything in herself and grasped. from the rubric “After the great mother recipe” we chose both “Ofenfresher verdigosbraten in dark beersauce, potato dumplings and herb salad” for 12,50 €, in addition my usual drink for 4,10 €. the white crimson salad was the first hand, a lazy little part. a little rough cut, nice crispy, with a lot of cumin (which my friend did not like so much) for me perfectly spicy. shortly after, the black came on preheated tellern nicely hot on the table. that smells very good. the two large meat slices had strong red staroms outside, were tender and juicy in the inner and extremely harmoniously spicy with cumin and majoran, without a single spicy dominated. the semmelknödel were made clear, not too firm, loosely tiled by very good taste. only the sauce I had imagined as a dark beer sauce much darker, I don't know what was used here dark beer. Moreover, it could have been a bit more soothing, it was quite thin, but very convincing of the taste. Conclusion: in this hospitable it becomes clear that even in very free location without tourist decoration, honest, handmade burning clean dishes can be offered in neat portions to fair trips. the price is consistent. a table reservation is definitely recommended if you want to go to the typical time in the evening.
The best kartoffel salad, I would love the reteipe. long wait for dinner staff was not excessively friendly.
A good restaurant on a quiet side street. the food was delicious and the staff was helpful and friendly.
We thought we were in for a treat when we booked to have our evening meal here but oh! what a disappointment. The traditional Bavarian food was dry, stringy chicken with potato salad and equally inedible spare ribs and chips both enormous portions. The...wine was nice though.
We only had a day to explore this charming medieval city, and while enjoying a beautiful fountain square, we were fortunate to ask a local family about a late lunch recommendation. The father was kind enough to walk us to this hidden gem. We enjoyed...some traditional dishes lovingly prepared from old family recipes and a huge soufflé served with plums and delicious vanilla cream sauce. While there is adequate seating inside and outside at the entrance of the restaurant, we dined in the quaint courtyard in back. Thank you for the lovely afternoon!
