Black Penny - Redfern

We live in Surry Hills, so, just happened to be passing by Black Penny, and decided to stop over for some cocktails.  It was Wednesday, I think, where it was two for the price of one. Totes awesome.<br/ <br/ And really funky interior too. Loving the illustrated wallpaper in black and white. A great hang with friends on any day at Black Penny.

No longer open for breakfast : also the food menu is less extensive than the one pictured. They had really good options for breakfast, disappointed they discounted it

Pooped in for a drink on the way home. Live band and she had a beautiful voice. Staff are friendly but a bit OTT and overly flamboyant. Good selection of alternative beers though and decent outside

I love this little place! Always a good option for a casual afternoon drink, set in the middle of bustling Cleveland Street. Staff are good fun and drinks are delicious!

The black penny is hands down the best place to get food and drink in all of Redfern. Have been in a few times and the staff always greets everyone with a smile. The food is amazing but the cocktails are outstanding. And if you like whiskey they just happen to have the largest selection of Aussie whiskey in the world. If you go to the black penny you will have an amazing time.
