Bidrage med feedbackBeautiful surrounds. Looking at the menu option at cafe, we changed our lunch destination option to the kiosk. As per covid regulations on our visit, we waited outside with another family in front of us. The single waiter acknowledge us and said she will take our order in a moment, but for a long time kept walking out with more and more food teasing our taste buds. Abruptly a guy pops out (I personally believe it was the manager) and announces, kitchen close! . The family in front was furious, and I help to calm the situation. I made the recommendation of putting a sign up (which the cafe may have done now) with kitchen open times and allow the last orders 30mins before the kitchen actually does close. He in turn made recommendation of other nearby venues for lunch. Some of my party was unhappy too, but eventually we took it in stride and went to the place for lunch we initially intended and enjoyed rest of the afternoon. My tip: be persistent and make sure you get your order in. The food looks great, relaxing peaceful location, but the customer service experience on this trip, pulled our experience sadly down a few notches. I may return. 3 stars
Was a very busy cafe and not very welcoming a long wait for coffees not enough staff for people going there. Instead of saying good morning, first words were, sign in!! Coffee’s were very nice and warm but cup only 3/4 full. Disappointing, more profit for owners it seems. 2 percent charge to use eftpos which is a joke. A good way to get some cash off the top of the business. Lovely area to view platypus which we saw on a cool morning around 10am. Great paths for parents with prams and kids could ride small kiddies bikes or scooters here easily. Only five minute walks to see platypus.
This little Kiosk is a hidden gem. The menu is just perfect for the environment you find yourself in. It has the everyday light meals; burgers, toasties..... but you simply must have the waffles, they are to die for. One, you will find yourself wanting another. And the milkshakes..... divine. If you are at the resort or either of the campsites not even a 450 metre walk, they walkways are well constructed, you will probably see a platypus or turtle as you cross the bridge. The staff are exceptionally friendly, they are happy to give you details on the area.
The Broken River Kiosk is a hidden gem. Who would expect to find such scrumptious waffles in this kiosk, quite hidden away in the bush. We were looking for coffee. We didn't expect such an oasis after a longish drive. They were very busy end of the school holidays so there was a bit of a wait but oh my those fresh waffles!!! Very very memorable!
Lovely atmosphere in a forest setting, great tasting food, (I had a Yodle burger) good iced chocolate
