ABC Country Restaurant - Red Deer

Roast beef, boiled cabbage, carrots, and mashed potatoes...very very good...the simplicity of the cabbage with salt and pepper was phenomenal and Lemon Meringue pie to finish this Seniors meal? overall rate 10/10?

Been coming here for a year and a half as a regular every few weeks. Been a steady decline from really good to always having issues. Today was the last time we'll be there. Constant food issues with potatoes being cold and sausages old and hard to chew. We had Ashley as a server whom we never had before. She didn't ask for refill until food came and refilled one drink. Didn't ask once how our food is which I had to spit out the sausage cause it was so chewy and we had to get up and find her to pay the bill as we had to go to work. I didn't tip, because she didn't take care of us at all (others brought our food out and filled our coffee) and even while I paid, she didn’t ask how everything was when my plate was full of food. She quite literally threw my debit receipt at the table when I had my hand out and refused to say good bye when she saw I didn't tip. I was a server and bartender for many years and would never behave like so. Childish.

Food is delicious! Neither my husband or I could finish our meal due to the large portions. Very good restaurant! We will be back Update: We returned this morning for the Sunday Brunch Buffet. There are no words to describe how amazing it is besides WOW!!! My only regret is not discovering this sooner. It's now going to be part of our weekly budget. Yes, it's that good!! I'm not typically a breakfast fan so going to a restaurant for breakfast is hard for me. I typically spend a long time trying to figure out what to order because I have very limited things I will eat for breakfast. Now I can have whatever I might want and then some!!Sundays 9am-2pm ABC is the place to be!!2nd Brunch Buffet Sunday we remembered to get a few pictures of our plates. This still doesn't represent even half of the choices available. Even for us picky eaters, there are plenty of options!!

The waitress asked how the food was before we got started eating, then didn't check again. 3 people walked by our dirty plates multiple times and didn't pick them up. We ordered steaks, the were super chewy, a $4.29 extra charge for a couple of sliced mushrooms. $64 meal totally disappointing !!!

Honesty is a lot better than I expected. Portions were a nice size. Food was quite tasty. The price was also reasonable. Most dishes were around the 17-25$ range. Very busy Saturday at lunch. Great for seniors as they have a dedicated seniors menu and portions
