Bidrage med feedbackAverage food, steak pudding not bad but gravy tasteless. From past experience what you get is what you pay for. Good for meeting friends and for an acceptable lunch
Organised trip to meet family on basis of Google including it as accepting dogs, but it didn't. I can’t add more as couldn't find out more, although been in the past.
Like all Wetherspoons you get what you paid for . Good value and prompt polite service. Three flights of fairly steep stairs up to toilets. T oilers in need of attention, broken locks and seats, but reasonably clean
Stayed two nights in Reading and needed somewhere safe and reasonable to eat. The Hope Tap was so good the first night (curry night) that we didn't bother going anywhere else the next day. Curry night was a success. Staff were great, attentive and professional. Decent veggie/vegan curry and a glass of wine for less than a tenner?? It arrived quickly even though the pub was busy. Nice flavours, nice wine and a decent buzz in the place. The bouncers on the door were reassuring, most of the clientele were well behaved. We didn't stay late. It was just what we needed. It's not fine dining and it's not a slick restuarant but you get what you pay for. As a veggie I found the menu very workable with plenty of choice. The downside??? It's not very clean and the staff are clearly run ragged here, but they cope admirably and are learning on the job. I'm not going to mark it down as others have been scathing. It's great value and a pretty decent place to grab a cheap meal.
I had a nice pint (or two) of Abbot 's here. A spacious pub with table seating. A good place for people watching all the local characters congregate here.
