Bidrage med feedbackLebanon and Beyond is a cozy Lebanese restaurant housed in an art-deco building. They offer a range of traditional Lebanese dishes including lamb kofta, felafel and their famous garlic skewered chicken. I tried their skewered chicken and spinach pie on my visit last night. On the one hand, The chicken fillet/breast are marinated with paprika and grilled on a skewer. Juicy and tender, they are appetizing and delectable. On the other hand, the spinach pie was a little disappointing. The acidity of the sour marinate overwhelms the natural texture and flavour of spinach.
I am shocked this is one of the highest rated restaurants in the area. We are 5 people from different parts of the world and all of us found this place underwhelming at best. The dips were average, the kibbeh was dry, the kousa mashi was bland, the salad was drenched in vinegar to the point of inedible, the beef stew came out and had not been stewed but was just some strips of beef without any of the advertised sauce. The only things that were good was the sausages (which I assume were store bought) and the shish kebab. None of us usually complain but the meal was so disappointing and overpriced that we felt the need to comment, and when we did the manager told us 'that 's how we cook...read more
Lebanon Beyond is an abject reminder why the American model of tips based on service should be considered in Australia. The food at least what we were served in the Picada seemed authentic. But let down by every possible dimension of service. We asked for what the table adjacent was served. Probably the easiest order possible. Except we were served half of what that ordered a huge platter of meat without any suggestion of salad or dips which should accompany the order. Because L B is BYO we asked for information adjacent bottle shops. Amazingly also completely wrong advice. Then when one of our party returned with wine the indifferent service saw us service ourselves using glasses...read more
The vegetarian mix platter was so good! Loved it!! It comes with hommous, tabbouli, French beans, bahtra, falafel, fried cauliflower and spinach pie and it was incredibly filling and delicious. It is a vegetarian platter but I think most of it is actually vegan so even better. Loved the hommous, potatoes, and fried cauliflower so, so much. Only fault is I wish they gave more of the cauliflower and perhaps took away from something else. It was a very small portion, probably only about 2 pieces from memory and it is one of my all time fav Lebanese dishes so I was a tad disappointed. But everything else more than enough made up for it, and I was actually really surprised with the falafel...read more
Really delicious Lebanese food offerings . This restaurant is always packed out, making it pretty noisy inside, but indicative of good food! The service is fast but the prices are probably a little steep... nevertheless, I'll be back!
