Bella Monica - Raleigh

The restaurant was packed for dinner (please make reservations) or you can sit at the bar for full service. Our waitress was super friendly and knew the menu well, they have a great selection of wines. We ordered the seasonal pumpkin ravioli, shrimp scampi spaghetti and margarita flatbread. Everything looked great! However, the pasta dishes were lacking in flavor complexity and were more bland. The flatbread was good and super hot and fresh. Im hoping this was a fluke as the other reviews are amazing and everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. But sadly, this first visit I was underwhelmed.

I was introduced to Bella Monica because I was on a gluten free diet. They have a great GF menu and are very careful with cc. The food is amazing! My BF and I visit every other month or so and love the food. My favorite is the Shrimp and Polenta. Sautéed onions, grilled shrimp, crispy panchetta and polenta with a butter sauce. So amazing! We also never skip desert at Bella Monica. The Chocolate Amore is my favorite.

Me and my wife celebrated our first anniversary here and the food and service were excellent! I ordered the stuffed shells and my wife ordered the veal rigatoni. This is the best Italian restaurant in Raleigh and this is a must go for anyone in the area. Thanks for a great anniversary dinner!

We dine here several times a month, and it's our go-to Italian restaurant in the Raleigh area. The food is consistently excellent, and they have an impressive gluten-free menu for people like me with a wheat allergy.
