Bidrage med feedbackVery tasty food, excellent service, a bit pricey for some basic Canadian cuisine. We enjoyed the Eggs Benedict, Chicken Souvlaki-but the menu did say the souvlaki came with potatoes-we didn't have any on our plate, other than that it was a tasty dish. Be sure to ask for extra Tzatziki. I would eat here again for the good service and tasty food, but it doesn't quite get 5 stars for me.
We were unsure if we'd be allowed to "just have a coffee" since it was lunch time but the owner could not have been more welcoming. He brought coffee right away and we decided to share a piece of apple pie. Large and delicious!! He told us they have it made specially for the restaurant by a local baker. The decor in the old building adds to the sense of history there. Anyway, it was a really great experience - a genuinely friendly greeting makes all the difference.
On a recent visit the Barkerville Historic Park we stopped for lunch at Wake Up Jake's. This historic rustic restaurant served a nice soup and sandwich. Staff were dressed in era costumes. My corned beef on rye was delicious.
Had lunch here. The Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Our server was not very friendly though. Would go again!
Had a delightful Miners' breakfasti n this wonderful old building. The prices were fair, and the service fast and friendly, although we had just missed busy rush of the long weekend. A must-do when visiting historic Barkerville
