Bidrage med feedbackMy favourite place to eat in Quebec. I stayed at Auberge de la Paix next door, and the new owner operates both. I ate here so much over three days. Very friendly, relaxed staff, incredible food for a great price compared to everything else around Old Quebec. Truly a hidden gem!Food: 5/5
Amazing service and fantastic food. This was a really delightful restaurant to eat at to round out a day of exploring the city. It’s tucked away and has a really laid back atmosphere. The food was delectable from the first bite to the last with flavor combinations that will knock your socks off.If you’re a fan of (alcoholic) Ciders, make sure to order one for your table as you take your time with your meal. You won’t regret it.The menu changes regularly, but you will not be disappointed in the food no matter what’s being served—a lot of care clearly goes into the menu here.
Wonderful spot on a quiet street. The service was prompt and very friendly and all of our meals were excellent. Would definitely visit again.
Our first visit to Quebec City our first experience at a restaurant in this beautiful, historically rich city. After asking one of the waitstaff about seating, my husband I sat ourselves down at one of the outdoor tables. We were then abrubtly approached by another waitress who questioned us about seating ourselves. We apologized about possibly misunderstanding, especially with the language barrier, and offered to get up to make things right. After she scolded us, she walked off. We shrugged it off assumed she came to terms with our honest mistake. Then about 5-mins later she comes by with two glasses of water slams them on the table without saying a word then walks away again. At that point, I was sure that I didn't want to spend any more time there dealing with rudeness so we just left. We just wanted a quaint spot to enjoy an authentic experience but instead we got a cold waitress who needs a lesson in service. Not exactly the Quebecois experience we were expecting.
This is a quaint charming restaurant off the beaten track. We found it on our long walks and loved that it was away from all the tourists. After reading so many amazing reviews we wanted to make it our last memorable dinner of our trip. I want to give it 5 stars but our experience was a bit disappointing. The food was 5 stars but the service was not great. We were greeted right away by one gentleman with our reservation and we chose to sit outside in front of the restaurant. And another server took our drink order and we received our drinks right away but after that it went downhill a bit. He disappeared and never came back to take our order. After about 15-20 minutes I actually had to wave down someone to take our order. It seemed that anyone sitting outside was more neglected than any patrons who were sitting inside. I felt like an after thought to be honest. We weren’t actually sure who our server was as as there seem to be four different ones. Our food finally arrived by a different server. The Arctic Char and Beef was delicious and the presentation was excellent. It truly was the highlight of the evening. After some time none of the servers came up to us to ask us how our meal was and didn’t even ask us if we were interested in dessert. A fourth person came by to refill our water and after another 15 minutes I had to wave someone down to get our bill. I wanted it to be such a wonderful experience but left feeling a bit disappointed. You spend that much on a meal you expect a little more attention from the servers. I only hope it was an off night for them as is it really is a hidden gem. It’s a place everyone should go to enjoy the food.
