Bidrage med feedbackWe celebrated our anniversary/birthday with a lunch at this restaurant with a group of 20, including 4 children. The experience was fantastic from beginning to end. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the food was delicious and beautifully presented, especially the roasts. They even brought out our cake when we requested it. The atmosphere was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Traveled from Swanage for an anniversary meal and it was absolutely worth it. The meal was beautifully cooked and presented, and it was really good value. The staff were friendly and efficient. This pub is truly community-minded, as they participate in a free meal club scheme.
We decided to dine at this restaurant based on positive reviews on TripAdvisor and we were pleased to find that it was conveniently located near our holiday accommodation. The food was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed the slow cooked brisket followed by the white chocolate Bailey's parfait. It was so delicious that we returned two nights later for the same dishes, which were just as good. Despite dining at many establishments, including Michelin restaurants, over the years, we found this restaurant to be an unexpected hidden gem with great food and value for money. The service was excellent as well, with our server Emily being welcoming, lovely, and helpful. We will definitely be returning and hope that Emily continues to greet guests with her lovely smile. Emily, please pass on our compliments to the chef and encourage them to consider entering MasterChef.
We had a meal with our family here today to celebrate Father’s Day. We were recommended by a friend and want to thank you for making our day so special. The carvery was excellent and the puds scrummy. We were made to feel so welcome by all your staff. Can’t wait to come again.
The Chequers is exactly what you expect of a good local village pub. It is a well maintained free house pub that is full of character. It serves excellent food and a good selection of drinks, including Timothy Taylors Landlord. The pub has a friendly atmosphere with clients of all ages. Staff are very welcoming and efficient. We have tried the Sunday carvery on two occasions, and on both times were delighted with both the quality and quantity of the food. There was a choice of four locally sourced, succulent joints with all the usual trimmings and wide selection of well-cooked, well-presented vegetables. Highly recommended. We have also dined on a Saturday evening and again, the food was well cooked, beautifully presented and tasty. We unreservedly recommend the Chequers for a drink and /or food are already planning our next visit.
