Exotica - Puntarenas

A fine essgemach in Ojochal. When we first tried to eat there, they were completely booked — so we reserved for another day. I recommend a reservation as it is a popular place. Maite, the hostess and our server were charming, attentive and hospitable. Thank you to her and the rest of her staff. The atmosphere is very romantic, great for a date night (I was with my parents! Haha! The food is absolutely delicious and worth the price. Some of my recommendations: • Salmon with Dill Fresh Mushroom Sauce • Pasta Stroganoff • Fish fillet with garlic butter sauce with one side of potatoes • Banana Flambé (my mother said it was one of the best desserts she ever had) • Brownie We also got the ceviche that was good (but not one of our favorites we had on the trip. Another thing I found interesting was a sign they had in the bathroom (see photo). I thought that was something unique and very nice of them. Pura Vida!

A lush jungle with incredible and eclectic ambience. Service is friendly and stylish. The Papet Appetizer is one of the best I ever had. Each course was a generous size and creatively presented. Dessert options are more extensive than expected (passion duo is a must try). Reservations are required and the whole experience of cocktails until espresso lasted about 3 leisure hours. A family company that was run through the generations and maintained with class and devotion. Very recommended!

Fabulous food, delicious dessert and very friendly staff!!! Such unique ideas on the menu we had to order 3 course meals. winners were the Vietnamese ginger chicken soup, the banana curry, the port and pineapple pork, and the devil chocolate cake (light bite at the end of each bite forces you to dive into the next)! Oh and only 3 options for red wine through the glass; I really enjoyed the Chilean Merlot. Thank you for being so kind and patient with our indecisive orders. Really a wonderful experience!

Good French cuisine. It has a romantic setting and it's quiet. Plates size are very generous. Nice cocktails and wine selection. Staff is really courteous and polite. They serve a delicious banana curry fish plate. A reservation is needed to eat there. But overall it's a nice restaurant to discover.
