We went there because you need to eat pizza in Pino; and the good reviews that was definitely a good choice! We were almost the only tourists in the restaurant. The service was nice and fast, the pizzas delicious with some garlic and salsa... sauce extra. It is a simple restaurant without Chi Chi Chi, where we felt comfortable and happy! Also the prices are incredible and something for Backpacker 's! Good food for fair prices in a good atmosphere!
In a country with millions of pizza joints, this one certainly doesn 't stand out. It was very busy with local people (we were the only Gringos) and there was only one server so service was a bit lacking but she was hustling and doing her...best. This is not a fancy place, with plain tables and chairs and not much in the way of ambience or decor. I don 't mind this as these places are generally where you find the best food and best prices. We ordered a lasagna and a ham, pineapple, mushroom bacon pizza. The lasagna came out 15 minutes ahead of the pizza (Peruvian restaurants seem to lack the ability to coordinate the delivery of food for everyone at the table) along with a very warm beer. Lasagna was ok, actually. Not 'like mom makes ' but edible and a good size for a cheap price. The pizza was nothing special, with canned mushrooms and different pieces containing different toppings. Some had ham, some not, some had mishrooms, some not. This is not a problem, just different. And a restaurant pizza should never ever have canned mushrooms. It was quite inexpensive, so there is a balance there I suppose. I would try one of the other hundred or so pizza places in the few blocks surrounding this one before I 'd go back. Not the worst but certainly nothing to write home about.
We've travelled all through Argentina, Patagonia, Chile, Bolivia and Peru in the past four and a half months and encountered some of the worst pizzas we've ever had, so Pizzeria Jhutmay was a wonderful surprise: fast service, great wood-oven thin-crust pizzas with excellent toppings (my...wife and I liked the vegetarian pizza best), and good prices. We ate there three of four times over the space of one week and never had a bad experience. The place was usually packed with people, which is usually a good sign.
Un pedido puede llegar a tomar 1 hora aproximadamente. Los mozos no son para nada amables. El calzone de carne y las pizzas son su fuerte, lo demás es normal.
