Mestiza - Puerto Vallarta

It's been almost a year since I discovered Mestiza on my last trip to Puerto Vallarta. I am currently planning my annual trip for later this month, and the first thing I did was to check that Mestiza was still in operation. We enjoyed dinner twice at this restaurant, and were impressed with the simple, but delicious menu, the freshness of ingredients, and the care they take to make sure the meal comes out to perfection. The octopus dish is among the best I've had. I can't way to go again soon.

Ok where to start, you need to look for this place because it's off the main drag. Their drinks are good and well prepared, the staff are good and fun. Now to the important bit, the food is tapas style, order two or three dishes, we had the octopus and the sausage dishes and they were fabulous. They have only one dessert, perhaps the best panacotta we have ever had, a perfect balance of flavours. Do not miss this gem, oh and it's cheap.

Calm ambiance, quality food and nice attentive staff. Portions of the food could have been a little bigger though.

Mestiza is not not really on the main strip (though it's close) so we hadn't noticed it before. I'm so glad we found it! All of the food was amazing. There were three of us and by the end we had pretty much ordered the entire menu, we couldn't stop. Excellent cocktails too.

We were in PV over New Year's and went twice to this new restaurant. The service was great and the food was too. We had the best octopus EVER - succulent and delicious. Mezcal cocktails were great too. Would most certainly go back again!
