We got tacos with beef, sautéed onions and green peppers as well as "burritos" with chicken, lettuce and guacamole. (They're really more like the tacos as far as the size of the tortilla.) All were good and satisfied our craving for Mexican. The service was warm and friendly and impressively attentive. We were introduced to a Brazilian hot sauce called Ponzan and loved it. If you're craving spicy, ask for it. Amazing. Only issue was the chips were perhaps a bit stale but not so stale that we couldn't eat them. For a small town like this, the food was surprisingly good.
In what is now a very expensive Argentina, Tacopado offers great value and good food in Puerto Iguazu. Not your typical Mexican, for sure, but the sight of beans and guacamole was extremely pleasant! We had three tacos + nachos + fries as a deal which was AR$130 and too much food for me. The tortillas seemed authentic, the fillings were chicken with onion and capsicum - there were other options too. Staff were eager to please and the general atmosphere was positive. Good for a break from steak.
I visited as a solo traveler and unfortunately another traveler made me very uncomfortable (no fault of the business). The workers went far out of their way to make sure I was taken care of (given being vegetarian and not eating wheat) and protected and being put at ease from the foreigner. I can't thank the business enough for taking care of me. The food was up to par and the service was great. Thanks a million guys.
