Bidrage med feedbackYou definitely will love the ambience of the rooftop balcony seating with ambient lighting and the view of white town as you sip your cocktails . The food portion is kinda small for my taste but tastes good. The cocktails were good . I really liked the Pina Colada there.
One of the best seafood pastas I've had here! Ambience is fabulous especially near the poolside, sipping on some mojito with friends. Friendly staff. Good to sit by the bar.
The best meal ???? in Pondicherry. We loved the fish wrapped in the banana leaf (forgot the name ) ???? appam and Also the mutton gravy . We loved the appetisers which included prawns in cinnamon and squid in orange sauce. We also loved the prawns chettinad!! We had the best meal in Pondicherry on the best day (it was my birthday ???? ) we went there a couple of times more . Loved it! Must visit for people who love South Indian seafood delicacies. We also had glazed banana with some payasam!! Which was delicious too!! ❤️❤️???? loved every bit !! Most recommended !
Taste is as important as sleep for humans. And such a place in my lovely pondicherry hometown is this. Particularly after the beef bam, it was brave of our chief minister to declare that the beef was an integral part of French cuisine. The food in this place reflects Creole cuisine. Creole cuisine is so different from the Goan cuisine that Pondy's cuisine is mistaken for. Visit this place. Enjoy. To you Health!
Every visit to Pondicherry is an adventure for my palate. An excuse to try something new everytime. This time I stayed at the beautiful french colonial inspired Palais de Mahe. Les Alizes is a beautiful and intimate roof-top restaurant that is peppered with elegant french colonial furniture and beautiful tropical plants. You can choose to work up an appetite by walking 2 floors up or for those of you who are in hurry to gorge on the delicacies there is a elevator to take you up. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner is served at Les Alizes. For the sake of clarity I will be breaking my review into three parts. Breakfast: The first meal of the day sets a lot of expectations and given the ambiance and the Franco colonial feel I was rather expecting a nice hearty full american breakfast along with cold cuts and cheeses. I was a little apprehensive though when I saw the spread and was wondering if I would enjoy my meal. It was I would generally eat at home. But nevertheless, the sweet female maitre de ushered me to a cozy corner and asked me how I would like my egss, tea or coffee and not to be missed dosa. Breakfast is included in the room and I am not sure whether there is an a la carte option available for walk in customers. The breakfast table offered a choice of breads and croissants, fresh cut fruits, cereals, eggs to order, and a choice of 2 fresh juices. Breads were baked in-house and were light and fluffy and went very well with the freshly made fruit jam. The scrambled eggs were light and slightly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The dosa was nice and big. What was disappointing however was the coconut chutney and since this is my favorite dip for my dosa I was really not able to enjoy it. It was not properly ground and was kid of chunky and not a smooth puree. This was the case both the days however. The next day I had a cheesy, masala omelette along with a belgian chocolate and pomegrante waffle instead of the dosa. The waffle was to die for. Light, delicious and slightly sweet. The subtle play between the pomegrante and the maple syrup and waffle texture was beautiful. I am glad I finished my meal with that. Taste: 3 (sorry bcos of the chutney other wise you would have got a 3.5) Service: 5 Lunch: I am big fan of french fries and I always judge the quality of the restaurant on how well they make their french fries. Is it ready-to-cook or actually sliced and parboiled and fried? Well let me tell you when I dunked my first fry into the bowl of ketchup it was perfectly crisp and the inside texture was just right. I also ordered the apple and carrot soup which unfortunately became cold thanks to the restaurant manager speaking to me about the history of the hotel. My bad. However the sweet waitress did offer to re-heat it and since i was hungry i declined her offer. My first sip when it was hot was delicious but after it was cold it was more a juice. But then again don't judge this based on the fact that it had become cold. Fortunately we did finish talking before my Sweet and sesame tangy chicken roll came, so I was able to enjoy it while it was piping hot. A point to note: Wraps, rolls and kebabs aren't served with any indian chutneys or sauces, since the food is a fusion of indian and european cuisines. That was the only negative I would say. If the restaurant were to offer an add-on then it would be perfect. (Sorry I couldn't post pictures of my lunch, I was chatting with the manager at that point. Sorry Srini :)) taste: apple and carrot soup: 3 Sweet and sesame tangy chicken roll: 3.5 service: 5 Dinner: Wow! the restaurant just simply transforms into a romantic spot with fairy lights and a gentle see breeze wafting through you hair. The friendly manager helped me choose the chefs specials and was completely charming and even helped with the wine selection. To set the mood i started off with a wonderful rendition of the bartenders favorite Margarita and then moved onto a nice glass of Sula's chenin blanc that came with a tasting platter of cheese, cracker, sweet grapes and delicious fresh fruit jam. The restaurant serves a wide range of cocktails and mocktails and has good collection of wine that pair well with the chef's creations. I tried their rava fried fish, spicy grilled orange calamari, lentil crusted fish, Garlic and basil grilled chicken, Chicken and coconut soup. With all this deliciousness inside of me I was stuffed and I shall definitely return to sample the desserts :) rava fried fish: 5 spicy grilled orange calamari: 5 lentil crusted fish: 4 Garlic and basil grilled chicken: 3.5 ( i felt the pesto overpowered the chicken just a little bit) accompanying coconut rice and pumpkin chips: 4 Chicken and coconut soup: 4 Service: 5
