Le Chateau - Puducherry

Roaming in the streets of Pondicherry we were Hungry and wanted to have French cuisine. While wandering we came across Le Chateau and as usual I looked up for its review in Zomato. We opted for roof top restaurant and ordered some beers, a Fish dish and a prawn rice dish. Fish was grilled with some herbs and topped with melted butter. I am not a big fan of Sea fish as I get a peculiar smell but I have to consent this was the best Sea fish I had in any restaurant. It came with some French fries and some vegetables. So far the best dish I had in Pondy and the finest sea Fish I tasted ever. Other dish had some rice with prawns and vegetables. Rice had mild coconut and masala flavour which was apt and with it was medium size tender Prawns. Food was great, room for improvement in service. Brilliant seaside ambience and rooftop just leaves everything behind. It's simply amazing, be it for chilling with a bunch of friends or a dinner date. What they can do is they can be a little swift with their service. Nevertheless, overall, an amazing place with a beautiful ambience. Make sure to visit this place when you're in Pondicherry.

Being for pondicherry for a day sure made me think on where to dine especially to eat something related to the place. The restaurant is really good in terms of service, although there is a scope of improvement. Tge food was amazing and i do wish to try there again. The prawn curry was delicious and i do recommend people visiting tge restaurant to try it. Finally : Ambience 5/5 Service 4/5 Cost 3/5 Taste 5/5

We decided to go "Le Chateau" restaurant in White Town on my last day in Pondi on a sunny afternoon for lunch. We went directly to the first floor as the ground floor area was pretty normal without any interesting seatings. The restaurant's ambience on the first floor was good, they had a live bar counter with proper seatings, natural lights and proper ventilation. We ordered for 2 Beef steak and beers for myself and Vipin. Finally found someone who likes beef. Also we did ordered for chicken steak, pasta and some wine for the ladies. Food was good but we were disappointed with the service. It took a lot of time for the food to arrive also after we asked for the check they showed us another seating place available on level two with a seaview which was far more better. Food: 4/5, Ambience: 3/5, Service: 2/5.

Went here for dinner during Pondicherry. The service was extremely disappointing , super slow. Since we just wanted to grab a drink and a few starters , the management screams from the other side saying only drink upstairs. We go upstairs and it's completely empty. I don't know why like others we cldnt sit in the restaurant and get a drink. Eventually we came back and sat there. Ordered sambuce , with took 45 mins to reach our table. Out food arrived wayy before than our drinks , and we are told that the bar is downstairs so it takes time . Anyway eventually we got our stuff. The desserts were very ordinary , everything smelled of egg. The cheesecake was like caramel custard. Had no flavour atall.the mashroom bruschetta was ok, creamy and cheesy, the prawn was like a 65 masala. Nothing fantastic. Over all it wasn't a great meal, neither a good service or a good food.
