Joe Marzilli's Old Canteen - Providence

Rose. I had a gift certificate for the old canteen of friends as they knew it was my favorite B federal hill restaurant. I called her on December 26th, 2011 and asked me about the dress code for lunch. I was told that it was business casual, not jeans, shorts, etc. I decided to take for my family and return with an order after we checked the menu online. we were sent to the bartender to place our order. the menu said that suppe or antipasto, pasta or kartoffel and vegetables were included with two of the selections we were made. Fantanstic. that's a place you shouldn't miss. the birthday of my wife with six people was a great experience. sal marzilli welcomes the chef when we arrived at fantastic mixed drinks while waiting at the bar. we had a reservation of 8:30 a.m. and we were asked for exactly 8"30 on our table. a big waiter who knew everything that went into each court took our order. Finally, after listening to buddy cianci ramble, it made it forever. it is a bit like a step back into the time and the pepto tomol pink decoration is always used. the service was great. the menu is huge, but really uninspired. we had an antipasti plate which was straight from 1958 with iceberg salat and a hard boiled egg. I didn't kill you. this place is a piece of history but and definitiw worth visiting.

Not good. if your only goal is to get a lot of food for her, they come here, if you want something edible, turn around. eating is just not good. the sauce is terrible. the decor is like in a senile oma house.

Love. What a classic restaurant, true elegance makes you feel like your at your grandmas or in this case, nonnas. The lamb chops with the pepper are great. Love it there!
