Bidrage med feedbackI hadn't been to a Red Robin since they closed the one in Calgary back in 2004. I always loved the food and service there, so I was sad to see it go. Fast forward 17 years and I finally had the chance to revisit. The food was still delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant itself showed some signs of wear and tear, but it had a nostalgic charm that reminded me of why I loved it in the first place. Hopefully it will continue to thrive for many more years to come.
This red Robin is always a solid choice for food. The service is always good and the food is always decent. They live up to the franchises expectations.
That title should have said, if you report a problem, the manager comes storming over to the table assuming angrily, forcefully and trying to intimidate you into believing that it is you who is wrong. First a little context. Some day I 'll write up the...whole story about when a US cellphone carrier was clearly padding the bills it sent to me. When I contested the credit card charge, the bank told me that they had reached an agreement with that cellphone company that, anytime a customer disputed a bill, the bank should just reverse the entire charge on the bill. Clearly, that cellphone company only wanted customers who were extremely docile or too dumb or lazy to examine their bill. So, I guess I 'm some one who notices such things and tries to see they are corrected. (I later learned that that bank stopped accepting any charges for that cellphone company. It is a waste of my time. It might help others. Nothing every got better because nobody complained. If you want a big, sloppy burger covered in grease and a very high calorie cheese and sauce for about $15.00, you 'll like this place. It sounds great! Years ago I used to go to places like this, for example Chili 's even before it became a chain. Then I decided I wanted to try to avoid strokes caused by clogged arteries and I stopped eating that stuff. These burgers come with a free bottomless side (fries, a small house salad, broccoli or other things . They do have a few entree size salads. But, they are fairly unimaginative. Lots (and I mean LOTS! of lettuce and little else. They cost about the same as all the other entrees on the menu and they are clearly the main part of any meal that includes one. Google 's dictionary defines entree as the main course of a meal. That definition not only works for me, it is the actual definition. These big salads are clearly the main course so they are clearly entrees. But, they don 't include the sides. The menu says in an asterisked footnote in about 3 point type hidden in the lower right corner of the whole page that the free sides are only included with entrees, sandwiches and burgers . Red Robin apparently creates their own definition of entree and it doesn 't include the big salads. This is not actually only about the misrepresentation on the menu. That misrepresentation should be fixed but this review is not about that. I tried to ask the waitstaff why the salad was not an entree. This was not easy, of course, for the waitstaff to say. It 's was not the waitstaff 's fault, of course. I told the waitstaff in a friendly way that it was not her fault but asked could I please speak to the manager. That 's when my insulting experience began. Sure, I know hidden pricing on menus is not the biggest big deal. But, how to speak to and treat customers is. And, frankly, they really do not get to redefine common words. Clearly they just want docile customers who accept whatever they make up. Just like that cellphone company described above. P.S. That manager I spoke with also said that ANY manger could not change ANY policy of red robin for all over 700 stores. I have to believe that was a lie. Managers, especially restaurant managers, need to have that authority. Too many things go wrong that need to be corrected. Restaurants are just like that. Maybe their real policy is what she stated but good managers know they might have to cheat a little on that now and then. Maybe it 's just a self-defeating introduction of so-called metrics. That is of course a different subject. Yet, maybe it is the inflexibility and stress of being a manager at a red robin will cause a nice person to turn and treat a customer as described above.
The service is terrible and my orders are always incorrect. The staff offered a 10% discount for my next visit, but that's not enough to make up for the consistently poor experience. Save yourself the trouble and check out reviews on social media instead.
How surprised? If you are looking for quality of food gamble and have plenty of time to wait for a remake of a wrong or understaffed order, this is the place to go! It goes downhill. Many reports about undercooked food. Make sure you check your meal is fully cooked before you eat more than a bite because they don't give you a discount when any is eaten. So cut burgers in half and check chicken wings! My was confirmed by employees to be raw and many reports online within the same week. When you send back a meal, they expect you to wait until it is restored, so nothing will benefit.
