I've been coming here since 2006, and it's still just as magical. The food is delicious and top quality. The interior is beautiful and the service is next level! A definite MUST visit while in the Catskills.
If you go here, ask for Paul! He was absolutely the best waiter. I’ve had ever! (Coming from a former waitress. the food was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was lovely and intimate. The place was packed so if you can make a reservation do so it’s worth the wait! A little pricey, but definitely worth it more so than the other places around. The food had an abundance of flavor and we had such a great time even in the rain definitely a must try spot if you’re in Windham.
My 2nd home is in the Hunter/Windham area since 2003 but this was my first time at Millrock, mainly because they don't take reservations and there's usually too long of a wait for a table. I love Italian food and am always eager to try new restaurants. Windham NY doesn't have a large selection of restaurants and with Bistro Brie Bordeaux gone (one of our local favorites), we decided to try Millrock. It's Sunday evening and we got a table quite easily, although my husband dropped me off to park the car, and they wouldn't seat me until he arrived. I found that odd, but once he arrived we were seated inside per our request. The outdoors was teeming with people and we wanted a chance to sit and have a quiet conversation inside. We ordered from our waiter Adam, were brought the warm bread and olive oil and then waited for our order to arrive. Our drinks arrived quickly, but our meal took almost 40 minutes to arrive. I had ordered the special lobster ravioli and my husband the fettuccine with vodka sauce. While waiting, no one checked on us we could have used more water and perhaps another cocktail, but it seemed the wait staff was all huddled together near the kitchen and not paying attention to any of their patrons. I was surprised at the wait given the restaurant was not crowded at all. When our order arrived, my ravioli were swimming in butter. So much butter in fact that I removed my ravioli to my bread plate to eat it as it was grossing me out. The ravioli were ok a lot of lobster filling but the dough was too tough for me. The fettuccine with vodka was only ok. For a $100 dinner, I'm not sure I'd return. I expected more from a restaurant that usually has such a long wait for a table.
My fiancé and I came here yesterday for dinner for the first time, and we will definitely be coming back! The restaurant itself is very cute, and it was very busy but we still got great service. The food was absolutely amazing and was so fresh. My fiancé is a vegetarian and there were plenty of options for him. They have a great dinner selection, and a really good dessert menu. The staff was very friendly. I already can’t wait to come back during our next visit to Windham!
