Strandcafe Balu - Prenzlau

General Prenzlau is an ugly city. She was already in the GDR time, because here you had to drive by car when you wanted to go to the Baltic Sea and then drove past plate buildings, downhill, gray neighborhoods and Russian barracks. Among the beautiful places is the large city church (closed on Monday, Prenzlau is surprisingly rich in church buildings) and the area around the lake. Here a lot has been done in the course of the Landesgartenschau and the urban development of recent years. The “Balu” is located directly on the lake, near the beach bath and the dock. From the outside it is quite inconspicuous, but equipped with large advertising banners, it proves to be a loving beach café equipped with moon-shaped wooden seat islands, because you want to sit like this, the weather allowed and places are free on the beach and have a wonderful view. It is worth going here alone, especially when spring, summer or autumn are. If you're lucky, the duck family will pass or a boat will crawl somewhere. The food consists of coffee and cake and the usual, there is an interior, a terrace and the beach. The children are also supervised, which can even play in the water. Service since I have operated Self Service, I can only praise or emphasize that no music can be blunt and you could give yourself to wave noise. In addition, the beach is clean, this also belongs to a good service. Yes, the Uckermark has many discoveries. The smaller places are called “Three Houses”, “Beutel”, “Morgenland” and “Engelsburg” and there are still signs where not only in German, but also in Russian the way to the next places is turned.
