Il Rifugio Dei Peccatori - Praiano

We’d watched a video on YouTube and this place was mentioned. It showed it being a very local restaurant with great views of the sea. When we started exploring Praiano for lunch on our first day this was the place we wanted to try the most. However, when we came across it it was on the other side of the street with no view. So, we went inside to inquire wondering if this was more a store/deli in connection to the restaurant. We spoke to Antonio, the owner who told us they’d had some damage to the restaurant back in December and it was currently closed. However, he told us he was still serving meals and cooking classes. He showed around his quaint and welcoming store and offered to make dinner for us. Just the two of us. We just needed to tell him when. We thanked him and left needing to contemplate his offer. I went with my gut and turned around after getting about 10 steps outside. I told him we’d like to come back the following night and have him make us dinner. Holy moly!!! No regrets. This was such a special evening. We arrived for dinner at around 7:30 and he had several options for us to choose from and we just told him to surprise us. We’re foodies and very few things we don’t like. Anyway, Antonio put on a huge spread for us!! Pesto penne, bolognese, gnocchi, and eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant Parmesan is not what we’re accustomed to is the US. It wasn’t breaded and deep fried but instead roasted with provolone cheese and olive oil. Lordy was it delicious. He also made us some dish with calamari and potatoes and a roasted broccoli. Served with amazing wine and it was all just for us!! I can’t say enough about this experience. If you’re in Praiano but can’t arrange for an experience like this, I would recommend stopping in for the eggplant Parmesan sandwich.

The best Italian experience in Praiano! All was above our expectations food, arhmosphere, wine. And the host Antonino is an amazing person that can make your time unforgettable telling you stories about local people and their everyday life, cooking products and serves you mind blowing wine! We spent fantastic time in a very friendly athmosphere and it was worth every penny. Thank you very much Antonino for this amazing evening!

After uselessly looking for quality sandwiches for lunch around us happened accidentally in this cute shop. very kind owner and excellent quality ingredients. The parmigiana was spatial. sandwiches and other snacks. also sells fresh bread, sweets and other interesting products. Congratulations!

We stopped in this place where they sell food for the takeaway. seems like a bakery with so much good. I recommend the pastry and eggplants to the parmigiana. c is the possibility to eat under a very beautiful pergola surrounded by lemon trees. the director is very nice. Try the liqueur dangles apple is really great.

Myself and my 15 year old son stayed in Praiano 5 days... we were in here each day for a lunch, a dinner a drink, and it would have been ok just to come in for a chat! It's a friendly family spot with great...food and a relaxed convivial atmosphere. Prices are reasonable and food is good.
