For the main course, we both opted for the lamb with a supplement, as is often the case with lamb dishes. However, the lamb itself was tough and difficult to eat, resulting in both of us being unable to finish it. Additionally, one of our roast potatoes was burnt black and had to be replaced. The side dishes of carrots, cabbage, and cauliflower cheese were satisfactory, but the presence of swede on the plate with the meat and potatoes was unusual. I personally prefer mashed potatoes over boiled with skin on gravy dinners, but the gravy itself was tasty. Overall, I would still give the restaurant a decent rating, mainly due to the excellent service provided by the staff. I must apologize to the young waitress who kindly offered to give us a tour of the theatre; unfortunately, I fell ill and had to leave suddenly, but I do not believe it was related to the food.

We had a wonderful Christmas stay at this hotel. We chose it for its dog-friendly policy and brought along our retriever and Sprocker spaniel. We dined at the hotel for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and found the food to be delicious. Although our room was a bit on the small side, it was very comfortable and the staff was exceptional. We will definitely be returning to dine there again.

I just wanted to share what an amazing place this is. I ended up here on a rainy and stormy evening after my car broke down on a mountain road. I had no phone signal and had to leave my car behind. Wet, cold, and without money, I was greeted with kindness and compassion. I was given a phone to call for help, offered tea, and a fire was lit for me to keep warm until help arrived. If you decide to stay here, I'm sure you will also be met with the same kindness and welcome. There are still many kind people in this world. Thank you.

Great hotel with a big history to it. Lovely food and the staff were really friendly. Good range of ales and the views are spectacular

A selection of around mains along with starters and desserts. We are here for evening meal and again at breakfast time. Great flavours, good presentation. Able to meet some allergy needs. Local produce. Good sized portions. Very happy customers.
