Bidrage med feedbackNice little place in the charming Llankelly Pl. They have small dishes meant for sharing and everything is creatively put together and well executed. Try the tempura battered warrigal leaves, they are little pieces of art in themselves. Don't go if you are famished, but do go if you are in it for the delightful taste.
Friendly waitstaff and delicious food. We had the warrigal tempura, scorched bug and the duck. I never her warrigal before, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Western Australian bug was perfectly cooked and served on brioche. The duck skin was crispy, but the duck could have been cooked a little less for me. The beetroot puree with the duck was beautiful. Overall it was a lovely dinner.
Five of us went on a very wet Friday night. We had asked for and were give a table inside just near the kitchen. We took their suggestion of sharing the dishes and ordered four smaller and larger dishes. In the meantime the person selecting the wine was offered tastes of two of the reds, one being rejected as it wasn't to her liking and the other accepted. All of the dishes were well presented and very tasty. We thought the smaller standouts were the the Tempura Warrigals (a native green), the Spanner Crab with Beans and the Pigs Blood Parfait. The larger dishes were all great being both tasty and beautifully cooked but personally I didn't like the quail as much. We didn't have any desserts or coffee. A great addition to Potts Point and we'll be back.
Impromptu is a very helpful, friendly and accommodating restaurant. The food was excellent, the prices reasonable and the service attentive and timely. Yes, amazingly, this is a Sydney restaurant! When making our reservation, the owners went to great lengths to meet our needs, allowing us to come at precisely when we wanted instead of us being told what time suited them. Everything we ordered was delicious. There were 4 of us and we ordered, Tempura warrigals, spanner crab, market fish, scotch fillet and the lamb. We would have them all again.
I tried Impromptu for brunch this weekend. It is divine! Everything was such a pleasant surprise the food, service, atmosphere, decor... The menu is really unusual and completely delicious. I had the poached eggs with ham hock broth and it was to die for perfect for a winters day. You couldn't fault the service and the space is really beautiful. I'll definitely be back!
